Ultra Filtration

As a Reverse Osmosis plant pretreatment, ultrafiltration is often widely used. Ultrafiltration (UF) is a variety of membrane filtration in which forces such as pressure or gradients of concentration contribute to a semi-permeable membrane separation. The molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of the membrane used determines ultrafiltration membranes.

ULTRA FILTRATION TECHNIQUE

Ultrafiltration is a technique of separation that uses porosize membranes from 0.01 to 0.001 microns. The procedure is used to extract high molecular weight impurities. Organic and inorganic polymer molecules may be removed ad colloidal content. However, low molecular weight ions or molecules, for example, may be discarded ineffectively. Calcium, Magnesium Chloride, Sulfate and Sodium. The osmotic pressure difference across the surface in this filtration process is small if the membrane is filtrated as the molecular weight of a high particulate matter.

ULTRA FILTRATION TECHNIQUE

TThe ultra filtration is usually similar to the deep cleaning technique. The only thing is here fluid flows tangentially along the surface of the membrane. So there are produced two streams. This is regarded as permeate in the flux that is in contact with the membrane. Various characteristics affect the permeation rate, including feed consistency, membrane characteristics and conditions of operation. The other fluid stream is called the focus flux. It becomes much more focused.
